It is necessary to look as far into the future as possible and invest in development. This was stated by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, on February 14 at a meeting on the development of domestic microelectronics, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"Today, the world needs billions of chips, microcircuits, transistors. But the competition for markets is significant, quite serious. No one will simply give up their niche to anyone else. Competition will only intensify. We can compete in this market. This is a huge achievement for us. Therefore, it is necessary to look as far into the future as possible and invest in development," - emphasized the head of state.
The President noted that OAO "INTEGRAL" is doing this, but it would be desirable for all enterprises to adhere to such principles. "If you do not look to the future, your life will be short. There needs to be constant proactive modernization of enterprises, the introduction of the latest technologies, investment in personnel. We must find the money for this. The state will do everything to find such money," - said the Belarusian leader.
Alexander Lukashenko inquired about how the work on preparing and securing specialists in the industry is going, how the interaction with universities is structured, whether there are problems, and whether assistance is needed in solving them.
"In our industry, we need to focus on what we will produce today with development for tomorrow. And we need to invest money in what we know how to do. And, as I say, two or three projects that we have never implemented. That is, we need to not only develop deeply but also expand," - the head of state pointed out.
He cited the construction of a nuclear power plant in Belarus as an example. Before this, the country had never engaged in nuclear energy. "This is a complete novelty. And today we are not just operating this station ourselves, we can already manage without attracting personnel from the outside. And earlier, I remember, it was a wild problem. Moreover, we are already helping to build nuclear power plants. We can fully build a nuclear power plant with a complete set from the outside, say, from Russia or some other country," - said the President. - If we build a second station, we will definitely build our stations independently, without any assistance in staffing from another country. This is approximately how we plan."
"This is how we gradually develop these competencies. They are here. They need to be developed. Moreover, everything we produce today is in demand - from food products to integrated circuits," - summarized Alexander Lukashenko.
