Lukashenko named the main formula for the interaction between the state and athletes.
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, on April 4 during a meeting on providing support to organizations of physical culture and sports named the main formula for the interaction between the state and athletes, reports a BELTA correspondent.
"The approach is unchanging: you give results - you get money, and first of all, a decent salary. No results - no money. That's the main formula. Understand me as you wish," said Alexander Lukashenko.
At the same time, the head of state noted that he has always warned about such an approach. "This is exactly how we will act. We need, guys, results. If there are no results, there will be no sense," emphasized the President.
Alexander Lukashenko adheres to the same principle in other areas. "It cannot be that I am taking skin off the government, from the new prime minister: give the economy. Or from the head of the Administration: provide the organization and so on. Or the social sphere from the deputy prime minister. And you will be walking around relaxed. That cannot happen. Therefore, there is one criterion. If there are results in the economy - the government and the National Bank are working well. If there are results in sports - good," said the Belarusian leader.
At the same time, the head of state pointed out that we should not forget about preparing reserves. This is something to think about today.
The President inquired what has been done to establish order primarily in team sports and what else needs to be done, how his instructions are being carried out, and how state funds directed to clubs and federations are being monitored.
"I want to warn you, guys. It is not a problem today to see where this money is going. And we will see. But I want to say man-to-man that you should support your relatives, close ones, lovers, and anyone else with your own money. With your own money. Earn wherever you want and support them. That would be humanly, manly right. I think you will draw the appropriate conclusions from what I said," emphasized Alexander Lukashenko. "How fairly and, most importantly, how responsibly do clubs manage their funds or just stupidly spend them? For what purposes do they direct finances? I want to emphasize: we will hold the Ministry of Sports accountable for sports facilities that cost billions of rubles."
