The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, during a meeting with the Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, stated his intention to discuss a number of issues and joint actions for the future, reports a BELTA correspondent.

"It is pleasant to meet with you, I look forward to such a meeting when the opportunity arises to, frankly speaking, synchronize our watches, consult on some issues, and look at the near future, how we will act, what to undertake, discuss a number of political issues, especially in this turbulent situation. Your point of view will be very important for me," said the head of state.

Alexander Lukashenko thanked Sergey Naryshkin for his visit to Belarus and asked him to convey greetings to the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. "Thank you for taking time away from your duties, I know you have plenty of them. I ask you to convey my best wishes to Vladimir Vladimirovich upon your return, although we often communicate by phone, nevertheless, it will be appropriate given our relations," said the Belarusian leader.

For his part, the Director of the SVR of Russia expressed his gratitude to the head of the Belarusian state for the opportunity to meet. "First of all, I also convey warm words from Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in return," he added.

Taking the opportunity, Sergey Naryshkin also personally congratulated Alexander Lukashenko on his convincing victory in the presidential elections. "I am sincerely glad for the results of the recent elections. Now I will take this opportunity to personally congratulate you on your victory. We had no doubts about the results, but the victory is convincing. It proves that the population of Belarus, the voters support both the domestic and foreign policy course of the country, the course defined by the President of the republic," emphasized the Director of the SVR of Russia.
