Лукашенко на "Беларусьфильме" ознакомился с перспективами развития в Беларуси "важнейшего из искусств"

Lukashenko at "Belarusfilm" reviewed the prospects for the development of the "most important of the arts" in Belarus.

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, visited the National Film Studio "Belarusfilm", where he got acquainted with the prospects for the development of the domestic film industry, reports BELTA.

The head of state learned about the state of affairs at the film studio, its structure and material base, and the conditions for filming television projects. Also, Alexander Lukashenko held a meeting on the issues of developing the national cinematography.

As reported by BELTA, in March of this year, Alexander Lukashenko approved the appointment of Dmitry Semenov as the general director of "Belarusfilm" Dmitry Semenov. And in December 2024, when appointing Ruslan Chernetsky as the Minister of Culture, he called the situation in Belarusian cinematography a disgrace. "Of all the arts, cinema is the most important for us. And what is happening in our cinematography is simply disgraceful. This is unacceptable. We have declined; we look worse compared to that Soviet period when serious attention was paid to cinematography. I won't say that we are not interested in this, but for some reason, everyone wants to have money, but in the end, they do not want to agree that we need to have a good film, a good picture. Pay the most serious attention to this," the head of state instructed at that time.
