Who among the Orshans is leading in the international chess tournament?

The XXIII International Chess Tournament "Orsha-2025" continues at the Ice Arena. The residents of Orsha traditionally show good results.

As of today, six out of nine rounds have already been played. In the largest group A, international master Vyacheslav Zarubitsky (5.5 points) is in the lead, a graduate of the chess department of Orsha SDYUSHOR No. 2, who is currently competing for Minsk. Another Orsha resident – FIDE master Mikhey Naumenko, now representing the Republican Center for Olympic Preparation in Chess and Checkers (Minsk), is in fourth place in this group with five points. The same number of points is held by international grandmasters Ivan Rozum (Vologda region, Russia) and Vitaly Teterev (Novopolotsk), who surpass the Orsha player on additional criteria.

In another strong group B – a tournament with the norm of an international master and international grandmaster, FIDE master Mikhail Spizharni is in first place, also a graduate of the chess department of SDYUSHOR No. 2.

In the open tournament B, where players compete without FIDE rating calculation, among 39 participants, Orsha residents Alexander Barkovsky (currently competing for Minsk) is in first position, and Nikita Asinski is in sixth.

The chess matches in Orsha will take place until February 9, when the award ceremony and tournament closing will be held.
