"Who and how teaches history, shapes exhibitions". Lukashenko on the importance of developing historical science
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, stated the importance of developing historical science during a meeting with the ideological active, historical, and expert community dedicated to the Day of National Unity, reports a BELTA correspondent.
Speaking about the development of historical science in the country, the President noted: "It is important what topics are being developed by graduate students and scholars today, who and how teaches history, who and how forms exhibitions in museums, tourist routes."
The head of state emphasized that he is interested in these issues from the perspective of accents on events, dates, and personalities. He pointed out that in many countries around the world, this issue is under special state control, even to the point of licensing. "There, you are not allowed to talk about the history of the country without passing a special exam," said Alexander Lukashenko to the meeting participants.
