How order is being restored in the courtyards of multi‑storey buildings in Orsha
Members of the collegiate bodies of territorial public self-government, established this year at housing managements, have taken on the improvement of the yards of apartment buildings. This week, eight sites have been identified that will be put in order in two days. In Orsha, these are the yards on Textile Workers Avenue, 7; Sergey Gricevets, 11; Vladimir Lenin, 172; Mira, 68; Georgy Semyonov, 4; in Baran – on Orshanskaya Street, 15; in the agrotown of Babinichi – on Sportivnaya Street, 20, and in the urban settlement of Bolbasovo on Youth Street, 18.
In the yard at Vladimir Lenin Street, 172, the chairman of KOTOS No. 3, deputy of the Orsha District Council Leonid Khmylov, workers of ZHEU-3 together with the head Sergey Zhuchok, employees of the housing and communal services department of the Orsha District Executive Committee and the municipal unitary enterprise "Orshakomhoz" actively took on the work. Unfortunately, none of the residents of the house came out for the Saturday cleanup, although announcements about it were posted in every entrance. The participants of the Saturday cleanup worked harmoniously as a small team, but literally in a few hours managed to accomplish a lot. They cleared heaps of debris and garbage from the territory behind and near the house, painted benches near each entrance, and mowed the grass not only in the yard of house No. 172 but also in the neighboring one – No. 170.
– The initiative to bring order to one's small homeland is very necessary and important, – believes deputy Leonid Khmylov. – We show by personal example that it is not difficult at all to carve out a couple of hours in your schedule to engage in the improvement of the yard territory. I want the residents of the apartment buildings to show initiative, come out for Saturday cleanups, and create comfort and cleanliness where they live.
A resident of the house Irina Subbotina learned about the event the day before from an announcement on the entrance
– I care about the environment I live in. It is nice when it is clean and beautiful, – notes Irina.
She works in an ambulance and came out to clean the yard after her night shift. As she says, to refresh herself a bit. There is not much work in the yard, but the result will be noticeable right away.
The yard itself is quite tidy, and the house has recently undergone major repairs. This year, a new children's playground was installed. Children from neighboring yards come here to play; there is enough space for everyone.
The main "landing party" that worked in this area consists of the chairman of KOTOS No. 2, deputy of the Orsha District Council Sergey Matskevich, his deputy Oksana Logimakhova, workers of ZHEU-2 led by the section head Ivan Logimakhov, engineer of the municipal unitary enterprise "Orshakomhoz" Anna Zemtsova, and volunteers from secondary school No. 20 named after I. A. Flyorov.
In the yard area, they mowed the grass, swept, and painted small structures: pull-up bars, clothes drying racks, benches, sandboxes, etc. The materials for the work were provided by the municipal unitary enterprise "Orshakomhoz".
When asked by a journalist from "Arshanka" how such events can be organized in other yards, since KOTOS No. 2 covers the entire territory of ZHEU-2, and there are others, the section head replied:
– Such events to bring order to the adjacent territories can be organized through the chairman of your KOTOS or by contacting your ZHEU, – says Ivan Logimakhov. – But it is important for the residents of the houses to participate. After all, it is no secret that when people invest their labor in bringing order, they will treat the results of the work more carefully, preserving what has been done. Therefore, we invite everyone to join, show initiative, and set an example for the neighboring yard!
Today was the first event; many residents were at work at that time, so the schedule can be adjusted in advance by agreement.
In the yard of house No. 7 on Textile Workers Avenue workers of Orshakomhoz, Orsha flax mill, members of the BRSM, and local residents led by the chairman of KOTOS No. 1, deputy of the Orsha District Council Elena Kavetskaya engaged in the improvement of the children's playground.
Armed with brushes and cans of paint, they quickly refreshed the resting place. Comfortable benches also appeared here. Now a walk with children will be even more comfortable.
By the way, on August 20, work on the improvement of the yard territories will take place at the following addresses: Mira Street, 68, Georgy Semyonov Street, 4 in Orsha and in Baran at Orshanskaya Street, 15. Start at 10:00.
