How early voting is conducted in Orsha: day two
Early voting for the presidential elections continues in Belarus.
A journalist from the "Arshanskaya Gazeta" visited polling station No. 7. It is located in Secondary School No. 4 in Orsha. More than 1,500 voters are registered at the station, 12 of whom are first-time voters.
As on the first day of early voting, a line of those wishing to fulfill their civic duty formed near the station since its opening. Volunteers and members of the military-patriotic club "Vympel" are on duty at the school door. They assist citizens in entering the polling station.
Among those who came to vote early is the deputy chairperson of the Orsha District Executive Committee Anastasia Prokofyeva.
– I cast my vote for confidence in tomorrow, successful socio-economic development, peace and tranquility, – shared Anastasia Adamovna.
People of different ages come to vote, some alone and some with children. All first-time voters receive a gift book titled "Symbols of Sovereign Belarus" and T-shirts from BRSM with the logo "My First Vote". Out of 12 people, three have already exercised their right.
Early voting will last until January 25 inclusive. Citizens can make their choice from 12:00 to 19:00. On the main election day, January 26, polling stations will operate from 8:00 to 20:00.
