Как обращения граждан меняют облик региона

How citizens' appeals change the region's appearance

A comfortable and favorable living environment for citizens is associated with clean, well-lit streets, well-maintained yards, the presence of modern playground and sports equipment, and much more.

Municipal services are conducting systematic work on this issue, while facts continue to emerge where measures to restore order are not being taken.
Just on the hot line of the State Control Committee of the Vitebsk region, more than 120 citizen appeals were received in one day, indicating the significance of the problem for the residents of the region. The majority of problematic issues did not require significant financial costs, but only careful attention to the everyday needs of citizens.
After the intervention of the Committee, most of the residents' problems have already been resolved.

For example, work has been carried out on pothole repairs of adjacent territories on Vladimir Lenin Street (Miory District); equipping container sites, mowing grass at the Kizimirova cemetery (Polotsk District); installing a concrete slab and reinforcing the slope of the drainage ditch for water drainage (Dokshitsy District); mowing grass and removing Canadian goldenrod (Ushachi District); restoring order after landscaping work on Soviet Street (Verkhnedvinsk District); landscaping the cemetery in Shkuntiki village (Sharkovshchina District); grading the road, mowing grass in Lopatniki village and removing woody and shrub vegetation (Sosnovy hogweed) at the civil cemetery (Senno District); removing vegetation on common lands and eliminating defects on certain sections of roads in October village, Grishany village, Puscha village, Novka village, Gerasimovo village, Selyuty village, Sokolniki village, Vorony village, landscaping and repairing the road surface near a residential building in Kirovsky village (Vitebsk District); restoring paving slabs on pedestrian paths in the 8th microdistrict area (Novopolotsk); developing project documentation for the modernization of the adjacent territory, which includes the installation of children's playground and sports equipment, laying rubber flooring, etc. (Orsha); reinforcing the slope of the ravine and repairing the children's playground on Leningrad Street, eliminating unauthorized dumping in the area of 11th Zadorozhnaya Street and 3rd Chepinskoe Street, removing vegetation in pedestrian zones in the Bitilevo and Orekhovo microdistricts, restoring the operability of the boiler in a residential building on Vostretsova Street, pothole repairs in the adjacent territory on Aviation Lane, repairing steps and handrails at the "Grishano-Zolotogorsk" cemetery (Vitebsk) and more.

Problems identified by citizens that require longer time to resolve remain under the control of the Committee of the region.

Issues related to the implementation of the Year of Landscaping activities were discussed at a meeting of the board of the State Control Committee of the Vitebsk region, and appropriate instructions were given.

Special attention was paid to the condition of public transport stops.

During the on-site visit to Vitebsk, Orsha, Vitebsk, and Polotsk districts, broken benches and bus shelters, inadequate condition of the pavement at these stops, and unreadable signs with transport schedules were identified. This situation is present in several districts of the region.

In this regard, operating organizations were instructed to conduct an inventory of the stops regarding their inadequate technical condition and prepare a repair schedule.

It is worth noting that the citizens themselves actively participate in restoring order in adjacent territories and plant trees, shrubs, flowers, and repair children's equipment and sports playgrounds with their own efforts.

At the same time, every resident of our region has the opportunity to implement their ideas for landscaping yards, including the installation of children's play complexes, memorial sites, military burials, recreation areas, etc., through the realization of civic initiatives, which will create an even more comfortable living environment, restore the memory of the fallen heroes of the Great Patriotic War, and more.
