In order to prevent incidents (fires) related to the operation of electric heating devices in the control cabins of lifting cranes operating outdoors (hereinafter referred to as the heating device), it is necessary to ensure the operation of heating devices in accordance with the requirements of the operating manual for the lifting crane (hereinafter referred to as the operating manual) and to take the following measures.
Conduct a check of the functionality of heating devices, including the correctness of their connection and the operability of protective disconnection devices.
Exclude the use of heating devices not provided for in the operating manual.
When operating heating appliances, follow these requirements:
Heating devices must be connected to the electrical network after the input device and must not be disconnected when the mechanisms of the lifting crane are turned off (paragraph 155 of the Rules for Ensuring Industrial Safety of Lifting Cranes, approved by the resolution of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus dated 22.12.2018 No. 66);
before starting the operation of the lifting crane, inspect the heating device for any damage;
at the end of the operation of the crane, it is necessary to turn off the heating device using the switch in the control cabin (to prevent its automatic activation when voltage is supplied from the input device);
it is necessary to exclude the presence of foreign objects near (on) the heating device that may ignite;
ensure the availability of primary fire extinguishing means
in the cabin of the lifting crane.

Use only dry, clean fuel (firewood, coal, pellets) that corresponds to the type of your equipment. Wet firewood not only reduces efficiency but also actively produces soot and creosote, as well as leads to the formation of caustic condensate.

Ensure safe distances:Strictly follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding the minimum distances from heating equipment to combustible structures (walls, furniture). This is especially important for stoves and fireplaces.
Fire protection: Wooden walls or partitions near stoves and chimneys must be reliably protected with non-combustible materials (asbestos cardboard, basalt wool, brick masonry, metal sheets on a non-combustible base).
Preliminary sheet:In front of the fireplace or stove door, a metal sheet measuring at least 50x70 cm must be nailed or laid down to protect the floor from falling embers.
Do not dry the clothes!It is categorically prohibited to dry laundry, clothing, footwear, and other flammable materials on boilers, stoves, radiators, or near them.
