Investments of $1.4 bn. Belarus and Oman are negotiating a major wood processing project
October 6, Minsk /Corr. BELTA/. A memorandum of cooperation regarding the construction of a pulp and cardboard plant in Belarus has been signed between Belarus and Oman. It is part of a package of documents exchanged by both parties in the presence of the leaders of the two countries, Alexander Lukashenko and Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, following negotiations at the Palace of Independence, reports BELTA correspondent.
The total investment for this project is expected to be around $1.4 billion. The plant's capacity is anticipated to be about 800,000 tons of products per year.
During the negotiations, Alexander Lukashenko stated that Omani investments in the wood processing sector would help to utilize Belarus's natural resources more effectively.
