Member of the Permanent Commission of the Council of the Republic for Education, Science, Culture and Social Development, General Director of the state institution "Cultural Center 'Vitebsk'" Gleb Lapitsky held a meeting with the youth of Orsha region.
The event took place at the base of the Orsha Medical College, and besides the students of this educational institution, it was attended by guys from the Mechanical and Economic College, the Food College, and the VGU named after P. M. Masherov.
Before the meeting, the senator got acquainted with the educational institution, its material and technical base, the work of the career guidance center "MedProfi", and also visited the interactive platforms presented by the students of the military-patriotic club "Katyusha", which operates at the base of the medical college.
– Institutions of secondary specialized education are the link that is currently entrusted with enormous responsibility and state attention, because they produce specialists who are now needed by our country, – noted Gleb Lapitsky. – The college has a very interesting practice of career guidance work, which starts even with kindergarten students. This is not only a matter of career guidance but also of the prestige of the profession. This practice shows that our state is not only socially oriented in the economy but also in a real approach, when from a very young age we prepare those specialists who will work with us in the future.
The meeting with the youth took place in a format of trustful conversation and lively communication. The senator talked about the work of the parliament, the legislative initiatives that the parliamentarians are working on, as well as the challenges that currently face not only our country as a whole but also the youth.
He also addressed the issue of vaping. Currently, a scientific and practical institute for dental problems is being opened in the Republic of Belarus. According to statistical data, oncology of the oral cavity and larynx has begun to take one of the leading places in oncological diseases. Therefore, a draft law on regulating the sale of vapes is currently being developed at the republican level.
They also touched on the topics of drug distribution and the work of destructive Telegram channels. Gleb Lapitsky urged the youth to be responsible, not to succumb to provocations, and not to make hasty conclusions, but to think and analyze. And also to be active, to self-realize, to start families and have children, to love their country.
The guys, in turn, were interested in both personal questions and global issues related to politics, culture, and the republican socio-cultural action "Marathon of Unity" that took place in our city at the end of last year.
