Gleb Gulenkov became acquainted with the work of the Orsha solid waste landfill

In the year of landscaping, the topic of waste management and recycling is particularly relevant. These issues are strategic in nature, affecting ecology and the economy, and consequently, the quality of life of people.

In the Orsha district, there is a program for the collection and recycling of secondary resources. The effectiveness of its operation at the landfill "Orsha" was checked by the deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Gleb Gulenkov. The director of the Orsha special auto base, Tatyana Petrashenko, and the deputy head of the Orsha district inspection of natural resources and environmental protection, Oleg Sadkovich, introduced the parliamentarian to the activities of the landfill, which is designed to process up to 60,000 tons of mixed solid municipal waste per year.

At the site, the most labor-intensive operations are carried out with the help of machines and mechanisms on conveyors. Currently, more than 7% of secondary material resources are extracted after sorting.

During the visit to the landfill, Gleb Gulenkov discussed with interested parties what proposals they could make for the discussion of the strategic environmental assessment of the project "Strategy for Waste Management in Production and Consumption in the Republic of Belarus".
