Flag of Victory: Orsha joined the patriotic marathon

On the eve of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a large-scale republican project "Flag of Victory" is taking place throughout Belarus. This patriotic marathon unites cities and regions of the country, reminding of the people's feat and passing the symbol of heroism from hand to hand.

Orsha has also joined the project of the Youth Council under the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus "Flag of Victory", with the support of the Orsha District Council of Deputies, the Youth Parliament under the Orsha District Council of Deputies, the Ideological Work and Youth Affairs Department of the Orsha District Executive Committee, and the Department of Culture. Within the framework of the project, two important events were held aimed at preserving the memory of the heroic past.

The first stage of the action was the improvement of the territory of military burial site No. 4137. Participants put things in order, painted the fences, cleaned up the trash, and brought the place where the defenders of the Motherland rest into a worthy appearance. This work is not just a Saturday cleanup, but a tribute to those who gave their lives for the peaceful sky above.

Then a solemn concert dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory took place. The program featured songs from the war years, poems, and words of gratitude to veterans. The highlight of the event was the ceremony of handing over the Flag of Victory – a symbol of unity, courage, and the memory of generations from the agrotown of Volotyn, Bobruisk District.

At the event, the chairperson of the Orsha District Council of Deputies, Inna Khomutovskaya, emphasized the importance of preserving the memory of the heroic past. A member of the Youth Council, Gennady Drozdov, also addressed the audience, noting the contribution of the younger generation to patriotic education.

The project "Flag of Victory" continues, uniting Belarusians with a common memory and pride for the feat of their ancestors. Orsha proudly accepted this symbol, affirming: "No one is forgotten, nothing is forgotten".
