The experiment on organizing trade in the countryside has been expanded to new districts
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed decree No. 294 aimed at creating additional conditions for the development of trade in rural areas of eight districts. This was reported by BELTA from the press service of the head of state.
The list includes the Braslaw, Vileyka, Hrodna, Dubrova, Kostiukovichi, Tolochin, Khotimsk, and Sharkovshchina districts. The decree allows trade entities whose share in the retail turnover in the specified districts exceeds 20% to expand their trading areas.
Earlier, decree No. 297 "On Conducting an Experiment" dated July 26, 2018, lifted a similar restriction in the Orsha district, which had a positive impact on the trade service for the population.
At the same time, the current decree establishes the possibility of increasing trading area only after concluding an agreement with the relevant district executive committee on organizing trade services for the population and mandatory coordination with the district executive committees of the routes of mobile shops operating in rural areas.
The decree also places personal responsibility on the heads of government bodies for unsatisfactory trade service to the population, and on the heads of legal entities for improper organization of retail trade.
The issuance of the decree will contribute to increasing the social responsibility of trade entities in rural areas, as well as improving the quality of trade services for the population in such territories.
