Unified information day with the staff of Orshansky GROC: remembering the heroism and victims of the war

As part of the unified information day, the head of the ideological work department Shmatova Maria Gennadyevna spoke to the staff of the Orsha city district department for emergency situations.

The main topics of the meeting were the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, historical memory, genocide of the Belarusian people, and patriotic education.

Maria Gennadyevna emphasized that 2025 is not only a jubilee date but also an important reason to remind about the feat of the Soviet people who saved the world from Nazism. She noted that Belarus lost every third resident, and the victory was achieved at the cost of incredible efforts and sacrifices.

"Our duty is to pass on the truth about the war to new generations so that the heroism of our ancestors is not forgotten," said Maria Gennadyevna.

Special attention was paid to the topic of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the war. On the territory of Belarus, the Nazis implemented a policy of total destruction of the civilian population: burned villages, concentration camps, mass shootings.

"Thousands of Belarusian villages shared the fate of Khatyn. This is not just a tragedy — it is a crime against humanity that has no statute of limitations."

At the end of the meeting, Maria Gennadyevna urged the employees of the Orsha GROS to actively participate in patriotic events, to pass on the memory of the war to children and grandchildren, and to resist the falsification of history.

"Only by remembering the lessons of the past can we build a peaceful future," summarized Maria Gennadyevna.
