House without fire
"House Without Fire" – under this name, from January 26 to 31, a special preventive event of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will be held in the Orsha district.
The aim of the event is to reduce the risks of fires occurring in residential buildings and the death of people from them. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will conduct inspections of the fire safety condition of both residential houses and outbuildings: baths, garages, sheds, and will talk about the consequences of non-compliance with fire safety rules. Specialists will also remind about the inadmissibility of leaving young children unattended, the dangers of smoking, and the necessity of installing autonomous fire alarms in living rooms.
The focus of the work will be on the households and apartments of citizens most at risk of fire occurrence.
For reference: As of January 16, 2026, there have been 60 fires in the Vitebsk region, resulting in 9 fatalities. In 67% of cases, the conditions contributing to the deaths of people were smoking and being under the influence of alcohol.
The main causes of fires remain: careless handling of fire, violation of the rules for operating heating stoves, heat-generating devices, and violation of the rules for operating electrical networks and equipment.
Reaching out to everyone and explaining the importance of adhering to fire safety rules is the main task of the preventive event.
Do not show carelessness and negligence regarding your own safety, strictly adhere to fire safety rules, and be attentive when using heating stoves and electrical heating devices. Take care of yourself and your loved ones; in case of an emergency, call 101 or 112.
