The deputy watched as the road workers prepared for winter
Deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Gleb Gulenkov during his work in the electoral district visited the branch "Orsha Road Maintenance Department No. 181" of the State Enterprise "Vitebskoblavtodor" and observed how road workers are preparing for work in the winter period.
The director of the branch, Vladimir Semenkov, noted during the conversation that the network of public roads under the enterprise's balance is 767 km. Of these, 327 km of roads have asphalt concrete pavement, 316 km are gravel. Dirt roads make up 124 km. The preparation for winter at the enterprise began back in spring. Since the beginning of the year, 43 km of the road network have been repaired. 7 km of dirt roads have been asphalted.
In response to the deputy's questions about whether the equipment is ready for snow clearing on rural roads, the manager replied:
– Operational plans have been developed for the winter period, the production base and premises have been prepared, and personnel have been trained. 4,000 tons of sand-salt mixture have been stockpiled. This is 85% of the plan. The remaining part of the mixture will be prepared during the work. Daily, 22 units of equipment and 35 drivers will be involved in snow removal. Road workers will participate in clearing the stopping points of rural roads. The branch is fully staffed.
It was also noted that to ensure comprehensive maintenance of the road network in winter, the work of the branch will be organized around the clock.
Cooperation with the State Traffic Inspectorate and a feedback system with applicants on the ground has been established.
