Safety – a common cause: the Unified Safety Day was held in Orsha
On September 25, the Ice Arena was bustling again. The large-scale event "Unified Safety Day" brought together hundreds of city residents and representatives of various services. The event is traditionally aimed at fostering a culture of safe behavior, preventing emergencies, and teaching first aid skills.
At specially equipped interactive sites, guests were greeted by emergency service personnel, medical staff, volunteers, and specialists from the Orsha region. Each stand offered not only useful information but also practical experience: participants could practice providing first aid, use a fire extinguisher, and work with various devices and tools.
– We demonstrate how to properly assist drowning individuals, perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and stop bleeding, – said OSVOD nurse Tatyana Repnyak. – People are actively interested, asking questions, and trying it themselves. This is valuable, as such knowledge can one day save a life.
Special attention was given to safety in everyday life. Employees of the Orsha CHPP and energy supply services shared recommendations on using electrical appliances, while specialists from Orshagas demonstrated the equipment they work with daily, reminding everyone of the importance of following safety rules when using gas.
Road safety, sanitary hygiene, social protection, and prevention – each direction found its place. Bright, informative sites for children were organized by the Orsha zonal center for hygiene and epidemiology, BRSM, and the traffic police. In a playful manner, schoolchildren were reminded of the basics of safe behavior at home, on the street, and at school.
The sites of the Ministry of Emergency Situations also attracted considerable interest. Rescuers not only talked about their work but also visually demonstrated the capabilities of special equipment.
– It is important for us that everyone knows how to behave in an emergency situation. We don’t just talk – we show how it works in practice, – emphasized the senior inspector of the propaganda and public relations sector of the Orsha GROC Nikolai Barash.
At the end of the visit to the sites, all participants were handed flyers with safety recommendations.
At the same time, a safety seminar for labor collectives was held at the City Palace of Culture and Creativity "Orsha". Meanwhile, employees of the Orsha garrison of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted training evacuation drills at the Orsha flax processing plant dormitory.
