Belarus does not create polling stations abroad

Belarus does not create polling stations abroad. This was stated to journalists by the chairman of the CEC Igor Karpenko, reports the BELTA correspondent.

— Belarus does not create polling stations abroad. This legislative innovation is due to the lack of security measures at the polling stations that were previously established in other countries, and the reduction in the number of diplomatic staff. We are not the only country with such experience, — said Igor Karpenko.

At the same time, conditions have been created in Belarus for organizing voting for citizens of the Republic of Belarus who permanently reside abroad and are registered with the consulate, noted the head of the CEC.

— Such citizens will be able to vote at one of the 6 polling stations that will be located in Minsk and five regional centers. The addresses of these polling stations are posted on the CEC website. We hope that neighboring countries will not create obstacles for our citizens crossing the border for the purpose of exercising their voting rights, — emphasized Igor Karpenko.
