Belarus and Cuba have agreed to raise trade and the economy to the highest level of political contacts.
Belarus and Cuba need to elevate their trade and economic ties to the highest level of political contacts, and the countries will do this. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to journalists following negotiations with the President of Cuba Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"To maximize the potential of bilateral cooperation, we need to elevate our trade and economic ties to the highest level of political contacts. And we will do this," said the Belarusian leader. "The President of Cuba has just proposed a simple, clear formula. He says that it is enough to import what we can produce, and also produce together. Let's, he says, create joint ventures in Belarus and Cuba. Acceptable! We need to implement this normal model in the near future."
Belarus offers Cuba not only the export of goods and services but also active participation in the work to develop all mutually beneficial areas and directions based on comprehensive and strategic partnership.
"We are ready to introduce modern scientific achievements and technologies into the Cuban economy for the successful implementation of joint projects aimed at long-term economic and, first of all (this is important for Cuba and for us), social effect. Even today, we are implementing similar projects in Cuba in the fields of industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, and food. An assembly production of tractors and their mounted and towed equipment has been created," Alexander Lukashenko cited several examples.
