Беларусь и Алжир договорились об укреплении дружбы и приняли дорожную карту на предстоящие два года

Belarus and Algeria agreed to strengthen friendship and adopted a roadmap for the next two years

A joint statement on strengthening the relations of friendship and partnership between Belarus and Algeria was signed by the heads of state Alexander Lukashenko and Abdelmadjid Tebboune following the official negotiations, reports a BELTA correspondent.

In the presence of the leaders of the countries, a number of documents were also signed, the main one being a roadmap for the development of cooperation between Belarus and Algeria for the period of 2026-2027.

"Money loves silence. Therefore, we will not specify concrete contracts in the roadmap. Probably, it would be wrong. But the main directions and those responsible for each direction need to be defined in the roadmap. With specific deadlines for implementation," said the Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade, co-chairman of the Belarusian-Algerian intergovernmental commission, Arthur Karpovich, to journalists.

He explained that the roadmap is adopted for two years, as everything in the world is changing rapidly: "Probably, making a roadmap for 5 years does not make much sense. The roadmap should be for the near future."

The minister noted that Algerians are Eastern people, and sometimes certain issues are not easy to resolve. "But when they see that you are open-hearted and open-minded, then the attitude towards you is appropriate. We establish a dialogue with any minister, and it is very specific," he said.

It has already been determined that the next meeting of the intergovernmental commission will take place in Minsk in the first half of February 2026.

Agreements have been concluded on military-technical cooperation, cooperation in the field of animal health protection, scientific research, technological development, and innovations.

At the level of relevant ministries, memoranda of understanding have been signed in the field of cooperation in the legal sphere, in scientific research and industrial sector development, in agriculture, in entrepreneurship and innovations, and in higher education.

In addition, a memorandum of understanding in the field of accreditation has been concluded between the Belarusian State Accreditation Center and ALGERAC.
