Automoto run in honor of the 84th anniversary of the first "Katyusha" launch

On July 14, 2025, at the initiative of the Republican public association "Patriots of Belarus"  with the support of the Orsha District Executive Committee, a commemorative motor rally took place, dedicated to the 84th anniversary of the first salvo of the legendary "Katyusha".

The column of participants started from the memorial complex "For Our Soviet Motherland" and proceeded to the memorial sign in the area of the village of Pishchalovo, where on July 14, 1941, the first salvo of the BM-13 multiple rocket launcher sounded.

This historical moment became a symbol of courage and power of Soviet weaponry. The battery commanded by Captain Ivan Andreevich Flyorov dealt a crushing blow to the enemy, marking the beginning of the combat path of "Katyusha", which made an invaluable contribution to the victory over Nazism.

A rally was held at the site of the memorial sign, attended by: Maria Shmatova, head of the ideological work and youth affairs department of the Orsha District Executive Committee; Viktor Kolochov, chairman of the Orsha District organization of the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus"; Leonid Polyakov, chairman of the Pishchalovsky Village Executive Committee

Participants honored the memory of the heroes-artillerymen by laying flowers and opened a new information plaque as part of the project "Let's Preserve History".

Special attention on this day was given to the younger generation. At the initiative of the Ilyin-Lapin family, together with the students of the military-patriotic clubs of the Orsha district "Gvardeyets" and "Yastreb", young fir trees were planted at the memorial sign – as a symbol of eternal life and memory of the heroes.

"We must preserve historical truth and pass it on to our children, so that the feat of our ancestors is never forgotten," the organizers emphasized.

The event was attended by the leadership of the Orsha district, representatives of public associations, political parties, and labor collectives.

The motor rally became another step in preserving historical memory and fostering patriotism among the youth, reminding that the feat of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War will forever remain in our hearts.
