"Arshanskaya Gazette" is presented at the XXXIII Minsk International Book Fair-Exhibition
XXXIII Minsk International Book Exhibition-Fair opens today, March 17, in the capital, at the administrative complex on Victory Ave., 14, reports BELTA.
One of the central themes of the fair this year will be the 35th anniversary of the Commonwealth of Independent States. About 500 exhibitors from 23 countries will be represented at the exhibition: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Brazil, Venezuela, Vietnam, Iran, North Korea, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Cuba, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, UAE, Pakistan, Palestine, Russia, Serbia, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan.
Exhibiting countries will be allocated exhibition space where iconic publications, photographs of landmarks, monuments, and other objects will be presented. A separate stand will be dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman, with a program being formed in collaboration with the Belarusian Union of Women. Daily presentations dedicated to each CIS state will also take place at the exhibition.
In addition, with the support of the Ministry of Education, an educational quarter will be organized with the participation of a wide range of authors of educational and enlightening literature, book presentations, master classes, interactive and educational platforms. Four locations have been prepared for guests in the educational quarter. The first is dedicated to publishing activities, the second to scientific and methodological support, the third to additional education for children and youth. The fourth location will be the most dynamic — it is for youth and about youth. This year, a new competition has been added to it — a poetic marathon, where participants are invited to write poems about women.
Collective regional stands will also be presented, where publishing houses, printing houses, libraries, and regional branches of the Union of Writers of Belarus will work, showcasing the book publishing of our entire country. Each regional writers' organization will summarize the results of various creative competitions.
At the stand of the Vitebsk region, you can get acquainted with the book exhibition "Women of Belarus: on the palms of the century, on the palms of time," which will tell about the fates of women associated with Vitebsk region in historical retrospect.
The second section of the northern region location "In the Cultural-Scientific Space of the World" will present monographs, paintings, photographs, publications by women writers, authors, artists, and photographers.
In the third section, you can learn about the printing capabilities of the Vitebsk regional printing house.
Among the significant events of the exhibition-fair is the international symposium of writers "Writer and Time" with the participation of representatives from near and far abroad, which will take place on March 17, and the award ceremony for the winners of the national competition "The Art of the Book," which will be held on March 20.
During the exhibition, a special "poetic bus" will be curated, which departs from the Sports Palace. Along the way, you can listen to classics and contemporary poets, some authors will be present and read their poems in person. For convenience, the entire layout of the hall will be changed, routes from the "Nyamiha" metro station to the exhibition complex will be launched, and transport will depart every 15-20 minutes. Guests of the exhibition will be greeted with a large food zone, a children's area, and entertainment zones.
The exhibition-fair will continue its work until March 22.
