Alexander Subbotin commented on the Vitebsk region's plans to participate in the III Belarusian-Uzbek women's business forum
The III Belarusian-Uzbek Women's Business Forum, which will take place on September 2-3, will be a bright event in the international life not only of the Vitebsk region but of our entire country. This is assured by the chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Subbotin, in anticipation of the guests' arrival, who spoke with journalists.
– We are expecting new contracts, the establishment of new connections to create a more solid foundation for future joint projects. Uzbekistan is one of our main partners in the world, despite the distances that separate our countries. We have a very similar mentality, and our glorious Soviet past allows us to quickly find common ground and promote joint projects. For example, with the participation of the holding "Marko," a joint venture "Uzbekshuz" has been established in Uzbekistan, whose footwear is popular throughout Central Asia. "PO Energokomplekt" is jointly constructing a factory for the production of copper wire and small-section cable with an Uzbek partner. Projects in the light industry are being planned.
There is productive inter-university cooperation, particularly between the Vitebsk State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and the Samarkand State University of Veterinary Medicine, Animal Husbandry, and Biotechnology.
A large number of guests are expected, and exhibitions of products will be presented – from the food industry to jewelry. The business part will include a plenary session, and seven working sections will be active.
On the sidelines of the forum, a large number of documents are expected to be signed, with at least four commercial contracts and a memorandum of cooperation between our twin cities from the Vitebsk region.
