Alexander Rogozhnik has been appointed chairman of the Vitebsk regional executive committee

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, has appointed Alexander Rogozhnik as the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. Until now, the new regional leader held the position of Ambassador of Belarus to Russia, reports a BELTA correspondent.

Alexander Rogozhnik was born in 1976 in Gomel.

In 1998, he graduated from Gomel State University named after F. Skaryna with a degree in "accounting, control, and analysis of economic activity," after which he served in the internal affairs bodies.

From 2009 to 2011, he underwent retraining at the Academy of Management under the President of the Republic of Belarus in the specialty of "state management of the national economy."

He began his professional activity in 1999, starting work as an inspector in the "Gomel-Passenger" customs point of the Gomel customs. In 2000, he worked as a chief specialist in the regional development department of the Gomel Free Economic Zone administration. Then, for two years, he held the position of marketing department manager at one of the enterprises, after which he moved to the Ministry of Energy, where he initially served as a chief specialist and later as an economic advisor in the economic department.

From 2003 to 2006, he returned to the production sector, heading one private unitary trading enterprise, and then another.

In 2006, he returned to work in the structure of the Ministry of Energy, where he served as deputy head of the economic department and head of the economic analysis department.

From 2008 to 2010, he headed the economy department of the administration of the Lenin District of Minsk. For a year, he managed the scientific and production republican unitary enterprise "KBTEM-ITC." After that, he moved as a manager to another enterprise — OJSC "Optoelectronic Systems," where he worked from 2011 to 2018.

From 2018 to 2022, he was the general director of OJSC "Managing Company of the Minsk Motor Plant."

From 2022 to 2024, he served as the Minister of Industry.

In June 2024, he was appointed Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to the Russian Federation.
