Alexander Lukashenko signed a document on Belarus joining the Council of Peace.
On January 20, President Alexander Lukashenko on behalf of the Republic of Belarus signed a document on the accession of Belarus to the Council of Peace and the implementation of the provisions of the Council of Peace Charter. The full text of this document has been published, reports BELTA.
"I have the honor to refer to the invitation of the Chairman of the Council of Peace dated January 16, 2026, proposing the consent of the Republic of Belarus to be bound by the Charter of the Council of Peace, the text of which was attached to this invitation of the Chairman, - the document states, the photo of which was published by the Telegram channel "Pool of the First". - I also have the honor to inform the government of the United States of America in its role as the depository of the Charter that the Republic of Belarus hereby accepts the Charter of the Council of Peace as of the date of this letter, which serves as the official notification of the Republic of Belarus of its consent to be bound by the Charter".
The document, signed by the head of the Belarusian state and dated January 20 of this year, is addressed to the U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio
