- the chimneys and the stove body should not have cracks or gaps;

- the flue in the attic should be whitewashed to timely detect any damage that may occur;

- the door of the firebox should have a functioning locking mechanism;

- the floor in front of the firebox should be protected by a section made of non-combustible materials, measuring at least 50 cm × 70 cm, placed with the long side towards the stove. This is necessary to prevent the floor from igniting from a accidentally fallen hot coal;

- when lighting the stove, it should not smoke, and the firewood should not burn slowly, as this indicates weakened draft;

- feeling unwell, headaches during the operation of the stove are all signs of carbon monoxide entering the air.
