42 pairs of the best students and pupils twirled at the New Year's ball in Vitebsk
As part of the New Year charity campaign "Our Children", 42 pairs of the best students from higher education institutions in the region, students of the Vitebsk and Polotsk Cadet Schools, Vitebsk State College of Culture and Arts, and Vitebsk State Music College named after I. Sollertinsky twirled in the rhythms of polonaise, waltz, and midnight quadrille at the regional New Year ball in the KZ "Vitebsk".
This year, the overall concept of the ball is united by the theme "Northern Lights", which harmoniously combines the motifs of the attractions of Vitebsk region and the achievements of youth. A beautiful addition to the incredible images were the boutonnieres made by the Vitebsk State Industrial and Technological College.
The New Year mood was created by Father Frost and the Snow Maiden. The fairy-tale characters prepared a lot of exciting entertainment and gifts for the kids.
By good tradition, the leadership of the region came to congratulate the young men and women on the holiday.
The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov congratulated those present on the upcoming holidays and noted that such events are an important part of forming cultural traditions and supporting talented youth in the region.
— Looking at you, my soul and heart are filled with the warmest and brightest emotions, for it is you, talented and hardworking, who have been honored to participate in the regional ball. We are proud of you and glad that through your creative potential you convey love for the Motherland. I wish you in the New Year to achieve your goals, not to stop at what you have achieved, and to continue to delight us with your successes, – emphasized Dmitry Demidov.
Student of VSU named after Peter Masherov, Alexandra Kurzova, is participating in the New Year ball for the first time. For the girl, this day became exciting and will be remembered for a lifetime.
— For me, the New Year ball is a time machine. It feels like I have entered another era – of grace and elegance. The aesthetic pleasure is to enjoy live music, perform beloved dance numbers, and be in anticipation of the New Year miracle. I started preparing for the ball in October. Numerous rehearsals, choosing a dress, selecting accessories – all this was part of the fascinating process of immersing myself in the atmosphere of the holiday. I was eagerly waiting for the moment when I could step into the spotlight in my dazzling image. This real fairy-tale evening gave me a sea of positive emotions, brought back warm memories of my school years when I myself went on stage with classical dance numbers. The regional New Year ball is an opportunity to touch history, to feel part of something special and magical that happens only once. I thank the rector, the university administration, and of course, my faculty for the opportunity to participate in such a large-scale and significant event, – said Alexandra Kurzova.
Also participating in the regional New Year ball for the first time is VGAWM student Daria Skuman. This evening fulfilled the girl's long-standing dream: to be in a real fairy tale.
— I am glad that I had the honor to participate in the New Year ball. The atmosphere here is simply magical, as if you are transported to another reality where grace and nobility reign. I dreamed of being at such an event, and today that dream has come true. I feel like a real princess. I thank my parents for always supporting me. Their faith guided me to achieve my goals, and today one of them has been achieved. Special thanks to the organizers for a wonderful evening, – shared her impressions Daria Skuman.
The concluding chords of the event were the exchange of gifts and a festive fireworks display.
