April 8, Minsk. The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, listened to the report of the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Rogozhnik.
During the report, the discussion focused on the sowing campaign in the Vitebsk region and its features considering the climatic conditions typical for the northernmost region of the country. The head of state was informed about how the sowing is progressing and which agricultural crops are being prioritized. As of now, approximately 40% of the areas in the Vitebsk region have been sown, and there are plans to increase the sowing areas for corn and alfalfa in the region.

One of the key topics of the report was the construction of prophylactic centers for calves. The President inquired about the implementation of his directive aimed at ensuring the safety of young cattle. The head of state was informed that a total of about 150 prophylactic centers are planned to be built in the Vitebsk region. Work in this direction is already underway.
The discussion also covered personnel work, including at agricultural enterprises. Measures being taken to create decent working and living conditions for young specialists were reported.
Another topic of the report was the procurement of equipment for the region's agrarians. The chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee reported on the availability of agricultural machinery, the needs for new equipment, and the organization of the procurement process. As reported to the President, work in this direction has been established both with domestic enterprises and, for example, with the St. Petersburg Tractor Plant, which produces many Belarusian components.-0-
