Alexander Lukashenko took office as President of Belarus a year ago. The inauguration ceremony took place in the Hall of Ceremonies - the largest in the Palace of Independence, reports BELTA.
More than 1100 people were invited to the ceremony. Symbolically, the route of the President's motorcade, accompanied by an honorary escort of motorcyclists, passed along two main city avenues - Independence and Winners.
During the inauguration, placing his right hand on the Constitution, Alexander Lukashenko took the oath in Belarusian: "Taking office as President of the Republic of Belarus, I solemnly swear to faithfully serve the people of the Republic of Belarus, to respect and protect the rights and freedoms of man and citizen, to uphold and defend the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, and to faithfully and diligently fulfill the high duties imposed on me."

Then the National Anthem of Belarus was performed, after which the President signed the oath act. The Chairman of the CEC presented Alexander Lukashenko with the certificate of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
As a result of the elections on January 26, 2025, Alexander Lukashenko was elected President of the Republic of Belarus. His candidacy received 5,136,293 votes from voters, which accounted for 86.82% of the number of citizens who participated in the voting.
