COVID-19: BETTER TO PREVENT THAN TO CURE

Your protection against COVID-19

Your protection against COVID-19: why vaccination is necessary. In the past years of the COVID-19 pandemic we have encountered the SARS‑CoV‑2 virus, which possesses a unique combination of properties: high contagiousness and the ability to cause not only acute respiratory lesions but also serious complications in the functioning of many systems of the human body, known as “post‑COVID syndrome”. Currently, the key tool for controlling the spread of infection and, most importantly, preventing severe forms of the disease and fatal outcomes, has been and remains specific prophylaxis – vaccination.

Vaccine «Конвасэл»

Vaccine “Convacel”: what is important to know about it?

«Convacel» - a subunit recombinant vaccine of the new generation for the prevention of COVID-19. In February 2024, the III phase of clinical trials of the vaccine was completed. In May 2024, a permanent registration certificate for the "Convacel" vaccine was issued, it is used in the Russian Federation and has permission for use in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Belarus.

«Who should be vaccinated?»

Vaccination is not just a recommendation, but a necessary protective measure both for healthy people and for the contingents whose disease development is associated with an increased risk of severe course and serious complications. Risk contingents: People over 60 years old. Individuals with chronic diseases, regardless of age:

  • Cardiovascular pathologies
  • with chronic diseases of the respiratory organs
  • obesity
  • Oncological diseases.

Individuals with weakened immunity (patients after organ transplantation, receiving immunosuppressive therapy, people with congenital or acquired immunodeficiencies). Everyone who regularly contacts people from risk groups.

Many believe that if you are young and healthy, then COVID-19 is not scary. Indeed, such people have a lower risk of severe disease. However, this is a misconception—to consider oneself invulnerable and to refuse vaccination. From a scientific point of view, vaccinating healthy individuals is not only personal protection but also a key public health measure aimed at breaking the virus circulation, preventing its dangerous mutations, and protecting those who cannot mount an adequate immune response.
