On March 29, entrepreneurs who do business on the border with Belarus held a protest action in the center of the city of Bialystok. This was reported by the radio station Polskie Radio Bialystok.

According to the radio station, the action was organized by the Polish Entrepreneurs' Association "United East". The protesters demanded the restoration of cross-border movement in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. They carried two symbolic coffins: one with the inscription "Podlaskie Agriculture", the other with an obituary "Podlaskie Agriculture tragically perished - February 10, 2023". This is the date of the closure of the border crossing point "Bobrowniki".

One of the organizers of the protest stated before the march that the action is a protest and a manifesto against the "passivity of the Polish government, the prime minister, and ministers in their efforts to restore cross-border movement in the Podlaskie Voivodeship" and, as she expressed it, against the "lack of involvement in preparing the necessary assistance for the affected region".

"The closure of cross-border communication in our region has caused a wave of layoffs and bankruptcies in various sectors of the economy. The Central Statistical Office published data for January 2025 on the economy of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. Retail sales in our region decreased by 5.4%. This means that compared to 2024, Podlaskie entrepreneurs sold goods worth 972 million zlotys less," she stated.

She also added that despite meetings with the government, the problem remains unresolved.

"Only in the Podlaskie Voivodeship were car border crossings closed. Meanwhile, in the Lublin Voivodeship, retail trade with Belarus continues without any obstacles. Our actions so far, such as participation in parliamentary committees and meetings with ministers and members of parliament representing our voivodeship, have not yielded any results. We feel embittered and deceived," quotes Polskie Radio Bialystok the words of one of the organizers of the action.

She also called for everyone who cares about the fate of Podlasie to participate "in the protest against the passivity of the Polish government".
