| ZHITKOVICHI District, 31 August (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko does not rule out a possibility of privatization of agricultural lands. The President made this statement as he visited the farm of Mikhail Shrub in Zhitkovichi District, BelTA has learnt.
“If we decide to give land into private ownership, we will start from this farmer,” Alexander Lukashenko said referring to Mikhail Shrub. |

| MOZYR DISTRICT, 30 August (BelTA) – It is necessary to focus on signing long-term contracts for selling agricultural products, said President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko during his working trip to Gomel Oblast on 30 August.
The head of state remarked that he was primarily interested in matters of corn and potatoes in Gomel Oblast. According to Alexander Lukashenko, this year’s profitability of potato farming is extremely high – up to 100%. |

| MOZYR DISTRICT, 30 August (BelTA) – Profitability will become the major criterion of economic performance during the next five-year period, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said during his working trip to Gomel Oblast on 30 August, BelTA has learnt.
“We will look at growth figures, but profitability will be the major criterion, get used to that,” the head of state said.
Alexander Lukashenko said that the drastic reforms in agriculture are almost over. |

| MINSK, 27 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia’s Bryansk Oblast intend to set up joint ventures in agribusiness, said Ivan Danchenko, Chairman of the state food industry concern Belgospischeprom, on 27 August. Ivan Danchenko is also the head of the Belarusian part of the working group in charge of Belarus’ trade, economic, scientific, technical and cultural cooperation with Bryansk Oblast.
According to the official, authorities of the bordering districts of Gomel and Mogilev oblasts will set up joint ventures in cooperation with businesses of Bryansk Oblast. |

| MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – In H1 2010, the export of tourism services soared by 34.8% to reach $59.1 million, BelTA learnt from Spokesman of the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of Belarus Vitaly Semashko.
In January-June, the import of tourism services rose and amounted to $17.4 million. The increase is attributed to a large extent to business trips of top executives and specialists of Belarusian companies. |

| MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko views regional cooperation as the basis of the Belarusian-Russian integration. He made this statement as he met with Governor of Kursk Oblast of the Russian Federation Alexander Mikhailov.
The Head of State noted with regret that the global financial crisis affected both the bilateral relations and trade. Last year the mutual trade reduced by one third and with some region by 50%. |
